Every commission begins with the material. The stone has to look right. It also has to perform.
From there, a conversation. We learn the place, the landscape, the way a family uses a space, the light that arrives in October. The material is chosen from what we carry — or, where a standard list will not do, made properly for the setting.
We take on few projects, and we take them on carefully. A short note is enough to begin.
Where a project calls for it, clients are welcomed in person to see the material and the ground at source.
